Dallas VPS hosting is here: your server, your setup

Sometimes you want an application, not a server to maintain. That is why we built Cloud Apps. But sometimes you want to choose the operating system, install your own packages and assemble a stack that works exactly the way you want.

We now offer both. Caliber Node virtual servers are live in Dallas, alongside our managed Cloud Apps service. They use the same customer portal, with a separate server deployment flow and their own resources and billing.

Dallas VPS hosting, with control in your hands

Our VPS service is self-managed Linux hosting. You get root access to the guest operating system and decide what runs inside it. We operate the underlying host infrastructure and provide the controls to deploy, access and manage the server. You remain responsible for guest updates, application configuration and security.

That makes a VPS a useful fit for development environments, custom Docker stacks, APIs, private services and software that needs more operating-system control than a managed application template provides. It is not a promise that every workload fits the smallest plan: choose resources for the software you actually intend to run.

Small starting plans, room for larger workloads

At launch, the lineup ranges from 1 GB to 32 GB RAM. VPS 1 is $2 per month equivalent, billed $6 every three months, with one shared vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 10 GB NVMe storage and 500 GB monthly transfer. This entry plan is quarterly-only.

VPS 2 is $4 per month on monthly billing, with one shared vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe storage and 1 TB monthly transfer. Larger plans provide more memory, storage, CPU allocation and transfer. Useful controls should not require a support ticket

The portal brings routine server tasks together:

• OS selection: deploy Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux from the available catalog.
• Root access: use the server credentials or add your SSH keys.
• Browser console: reach the guest console when SSH or a network configuration needs attention.
• Power and reinstall controls: start, stop or rebuild your server. An OS reinstall erases the existing VPS disk, so save anything you need first.
• Firewall rules: manage traffic rules from the panel.
• Reverse DNS: configure the PTR record for your IPv4 address.

IPv4 and a dedicated IPv6 subnet

Each VPS includes one IPv4 address and an exclusive IPv6 /64. On supported running guests, the panel can generate and install additional IPv6 addresses, rather than asking you to manually configure every address from scratch.

Outbound TCP port 25 is blocked for network safety. Applications that send email can use authenticated relay services on ports 465 or 587 instead. If direct outbound SMTP delivery is essential to your project, this restriction matters before you order.

One off-site snapshot slot is included

Every VPS includes one manual off-site snapshot slot. Create a snapshot before a significant change, then restore it if you need to return to that saved state. An additional snapshot slot is available as a paid add-on.

The distinction is important: this is not a scheduled backup service that silently captures every change. You choose when to take a snapshot, and restoring it replaces the current server state with the saved state. For important databases, also maintain application-aware backups appropriate to your workload.

Network specifications without the fine-print surprise

The Dallas VPS host uses RAID10 NVMe storage and two bonded 25 Gbps network links. That is 50 Gbps of aggregate host connectivity, not a dedicated 50 Gbps connection for each VPS. CPU and network capacity are shared, and real transfer speeds depend on the destination, route and workload. Each plan has its own monthly transfer allowance.

Cloud Apps is not going away

If you want to pick an app and let us assemble its environment, Cloud Apps remains the simpler option. If you want to manage the operating system and build the environment yourself, choose a VPS. A Cloud Apps capacity subscription does not fund or allocate resources to a VPS; they are separate services within one account.
