What exactly am I buying?

A pool of capacity -- CPU, RAM and disk -- called a subscription. Every app you deploy takes a slice of it. A small tier will comfortably run several light apps, and you are billed once for the pool rather than once per app.

How is this different from a VPS?

A VPS is a full server you manage: you patch the OS, install the software, configure TLS. A Cloud App is managed: you pick software from the catalog, it deploys in seconds, and the host, certificates and database are looked after for you. Updates to the app itself stay your decision -- you get told when one is available and apply it in a click, because a new version is the app authors' work, not ours, and it can change your data. If you want root, buy a VPS.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every app gets a working address on our platform domain immediately, and you can point your own domain at it whenever you like. Certificates are issued automatically either way.

Can I get at my files?

Yes. Every app includes SFTP access scoped to that app's own data, so you can browse, back up or restore with any SFTP client. Nothing is locked in.

What happens if I outgrow a tier?

Resize the subscription from the panel. Your apps keep running and the new capacity is available to all of them.
