Bring your own hardware · Beta now open

Self-host your apps. Keep your server.

An app management panel for your own VPS or dedicated server. Deploy supported Docker apps, connect a domain, read logs and manage resources from one place—with app data stored on your hardware.

Free for up to 4 apps. Unlimited apps for $5/month or $40/year per server. No existing paid subscription needed.

A control panel for apps on your own server

Bring Your Own Hardware (BYOH) is for people who want to self-host software without building a separate deployment workflow for every app. Connect your Linux server to Caliber Node, choose a supported app from the catalog, and manage its containers, persistent files and settings through the hosted panel.

Use a rented VPS for a small personal stack or dedicated hardware for a larger collection of apps. You choose the hosting provider, storage and resource limits. Caliber Node supplies the app management layer; you retain responsibility for the host operating system and provider connectivity.

One license. Your whole server.

Choose Free for up to 4 apps or Unlimited for more. Both work on VPS and dedicated hardware and include the same beta app-management tools.

Paid licenses are billed upfront monthly or yearly. Renewals keep the same price; cancel future renewals at any time. Server rental, IP addresses and bandwidth are not included. Choose your plan in the panel. The free plan has no billing; paid upgrades take effect after payment.

App management, wherever you host.

One familiar app catalog

Deploy supported catalog apps and manage them in My apps alongside your Caliber Node cloud subscriptions. Start, stop, restart, repair and update from the panel.

Give your apps an address

Choose an available cnpods.com name with managed DNS and HTTPS, or verify your own domain. Use Tailscale networking for supported apps.

Your files, on your hardware

Access persistent app files over SFTP. Choose an eligible mounted drive for new apps and use database tools where supported.

Set your own resource limits

Choose CPU and RAM limits, unlimited allocations or overcommit. Disk space is shared without reservations or per-app quotas; your physical capacity is the limit.

See what is happening

Live host and app metrics, service logs, console access, environment settings and app credentials—all from the panel.

Keep the agent current

Apply agent updates yourself or opt into automatic updates when your server is idle. App containers keep running during agent updates. Reconnect an existing server or move an empty license to replacement hardware when you need to.

From server to app host in three steps.

  1. 1

    Choose your license

Sign in or create an account, activate a free four-app license or choose Unlimited for $5/month or $40/year.

  2. 2

    Run the installer

Copy the one-line command from the panel and run it as an administrator on your fresh supported Linux server. The agent checks the hardware and connects your license.

  3. 3

    Deploy and manage

Choose a supported app, set its resources and address, then manage it from My apps. Watch live usage and adjust limits as your needs change.

A beta with clear responsibilities.

Caliber Node provides the panel and agent for managing your apps. You manage the underlying server, operating system, security updates and provider connectivity. If an app needs email, connect your own delivery provider.

Supported host OS: Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian 12/13 with systemd. App-specific requirements still apply. Review the details below before purchasing.

Before you connect.

What is Bring Your Own Hardware (BYOH)?

BYOH connects a server you own or rent to the Caliber Node hosted control panel. A local agent deploys and manages supported Docker apps on your hardware. Your persistent app data stays there; you use the panel for deployment, logs, resource settings, domains and maintenance.

Does the agent need an inbound management port?

No. The agent connects out to Caliber Node over HTTPS. Public web apps still need reachable ports 80 and 443, and SFTP or other app services need their assigned ports. The optional host firewall setting manages Caliber app rules on supported firewalls; provider firewalls and router forwarding remain your responsibility.

How does the free license work?

Each account can connect one free server, with up to 4 installed apps. Stopped apps count. The license has no expiration and requires no credit card. Upgrade the same license to Unlimited for $5/month or $40/year without reinstalling the agent or your apps. Your server provides all resources.

Do I need an existing Caliber Node subscription?

No. Any registered account can buy a BYOH license. Verify your email and complete your name and country in Settings before ordering. Your hardware provider is paid separately.

What kind of server can I connect?

Use a fresh Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 12 or Debian 13 server with systemd and administrator access. The installer requires an empty Docker host. Public apps need a reachable public IP and inbound web ports 80 and 443; SFTP uses its assigned port. Capacity depends on the apps you choose.

How is this different from Cloud Apps?

Cloud Apps runs on Caliber Node infrastructure with a purchased resource allowance. BYOH is a management license for your own server. You provide its CPU, memory, disk, IP addresses and bandwidth, and remain responsible for the host operating system, security updates and provider connectivity.

Does every Cloud Apps feature work on BYOH?

The shared catalog and core app management are available, with tools depending on each app. Beta does not include app email delivery. Hosted IP allow/deny rules, AI troubleshooting and app renaming are not currently available for BYOH. If an app needs email, configure your own provider.

Can I change the IP or move to another server?

Yes. Update the IP of the same connected server from Network after the agent detects the new address. To move the license to another machine, first delete all apps and wait for operations to finish, then use Move license to another server in Settings. Apps and data are not migrated. Remaining time, price and renewal preference stay the same; either plan works on VPS and dedicated hardware.

Will the panel change my host networking?

Managing the app IP pool does not configure your host interfaces or provider routing. Configure addresses with your provider first. The panel can discover configured public addresses and let you choose which to make available to apps.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancelling stops future renewals. Panel management ends when the license term expires; cancellation does not delete or stop apps on your hardware. You remain responsible for operating them.
