Self-hosted appointment booking with Easy!Appointments

Booking an appointment should not mean a long email thread. Easy!Appointments is now in the Caliber Node app catalog, giving you a self-hosted place to organise services, providers and customer appointments.
It is a useful option when your workflow starts with a service: a consultation, a lesson, a repair appointment or time with a particular member of your team. You control the installation, while Caliber Node provisions the application and its private database together.
A booking system built around your services
Easy!Appointments is an open-source online appointment scheduler. Customers can choose an available appointment through a web booking page, and you manage the schedule from the administration area. Services and providers give you a practical way to represent what your business offers and who delivers it.
For example, a small consultancy could offer an initial consultation and a longer follow-up session, with availability managed for the people delivering those appointments. That is a different starting point from simply sending someone a link to your personal calendar.
What Caliber Node sets up
The catalog recipe deploys Easy!Appointments with a private MariaDB service and persistent storage. You do not need to create a database server separately or purchase a dedicated IP for the web application.
The database connection is prepared for you. Your company profile, administrator account, services, availability and outgoing email settings are still yours to configure. A running container is the beginning of setup, not a fully configured business booking system.
Your first deployment
- Choose Easy!Appointments in the app catalog. Select your location and resource allocation, then deploy.
- Complete installation immediately. Open
/index.php/installationon your app address and create the administrator account and company profile. Do not share the address before claiming the installation. - Set up your services and providers. Check working hours, appointment duration and the time zone before inviting customers.
- Configure outgoing email. Add your SMTP provider settings through the Environment tab and restart the app to apply them. The default localhost mail setting is not a working email service.
- Make a trial booking. Use a customer email address you control and check the appointment time, the administration calendar and delivery to your inbox.
What we checked before adding it
In an isolated test deployment, we completed administrator setup, checked successful and rejected logins, created an appointment and captured notification emails in a local test mailbox. The account and booking remained available after restarting the application.
Those checks validate the core workflow, not your email provider's delivery reputation. Before launch, test your own SMTP configuration and check spam folders as well as the inbox.
Keep ownership practical
Your booking data deserves the same care as any other business system. Keep a recovery copy of both application data and the database, and review changes before updating a busy installation. Avoid treating a single running instance as your only copy of the schedule.
For application-specific configuration, see the official Easy!Appointments documentation. Hosting uses your Caliber Node app capacity; any external mail service is configured separately.
