Boot media and recovery

The Media tab shows the installation or recovery images available to your server. Mounting an ISO attaches virtual media; it does not by itself run an installer or replace your operating system.

Before booting recovery media, save backups and schedule downtime. Use the panel’s available boot controls and browser console to inspect the boot process. If you are unsure which boot option to use, ask support before changing disk contents.

An installer can overwrite the server’s disk. Choose its target carefully and do not format an existing filesystem unless that is your intention.

When finished, unmount the ISO and restore normal disk boot using the available controls. Reboot and verify that the server starts from its installed operating system.

For a standard supported image, Reinstall OS is the simpler workflow. For a network or login problem, try the browser console first.
