Check and apply app updates
App image updates are different from restarting an app or updating a BYOH agent. Use the app’s Updates controls to check what is available for that recipe.
Before updating
Read the upstream release notes linked from the app’s project, especially for major version changes. Check for database migrations, removed settings or required intermediate versions.
Create a snapshot where supported and keep a downloaded copy. Make sure the service has enough storage for the operation and plan for an interruption.
Apply the update
- Open the app’s overview and find Updates.
- Check for an available image update.
- Read the displayed version information and warnings.
- Apply the update and wait for the operation to finish.
- Check the logs, login, saved data and any integrations.
Where automatic app updates are offered, read their settings before enabling them. They are separate from scheduled snapshots and from BYOH automatic agent updates.
If it fails
Keep the error and the previous/current image information. Do not repeatedly apply the same update. If the application changed its database, selecting an older image alone may not undo the change; recovery may require restoring matching data.
For a reported vulnerability, an image tagged latest is not proof of a fix. Check publisher release information and ask support about the affected catalog app.
