Move a hosted app to another region
Region moves are a beta feature for eligible hosted apps. Moving an app is not the same as deploying a second copy, and the app is briefly offline while its data transfers.
Before the move
- Create a snapshot and download it, or export the database and persistent files.
- Check the target location’s eligibility and transfer allowance.
- Review dedicated-IP and private-network constraints shown by the panel. Do not assume an address tied to one host can move to another region.
- Avoid simultaneous updates or configuration changes.
Request the move
Open Resources → Region. Select an available destination, confirm the backup acknowledgement and choose Move this app.
The panel describes the normal move as carrying the app address, custom domain and SFTP login over. Read any app-specific restrictions before confirming. A disabled move action should not be bypassed with DNS changes or by deleting the original app.
After completion
Check the location, open the app, sign in and confirm its data. Test the custom domain, integrations and file access. If something fails, keep the operation error and contact support before attempting another move.
Moving a BYOH license is a different process and does not migrate apps. See BYOH license moves.
