Resize apps and read resource usage

An app’s allocation is the portion of its subscription assigned to it. Usage is what the running workload currently consumes. An idle app still holds its allocation.

Change an allocation

  1. Open the app and select Resources.
  2. Check the selected subscription and available CPU, memory and disk.
  3. Set values within the available capacity and the app’s requirements.
  4. Save and wait for the operation to finish. Expect an interruption if the change requires a restart.

Disk can be increased but not reduced through this workflow. Moving a slider below an app’s actual needs can make it fail to start; lower usage at one moment is not proof the app needs less memory permanently.

Apps with several services

Some apps have a main service plus a database or cache. Where Memory between services is offered, review each limit. Unused memory assigned to one service is not automatically available to another.

If there is not enough capacity

Choose another suitable subscription for a new deployment, or review a plan upgrade. Spare capacity on separate subscriptions is not automatically combined for one app. Removing files does not reduce an app’s assigned disk allocation.

BYOH resource limits are ceilings on your hardware, not reserved capacity. Read BYOH storage and resources for those differences.
